The spine is the most important and complex musculoskeletal structure of the human body hence the number of conditions that can arise from it are far too many to mention. According to statistics 2.5 million people in the UK suffer with back pain everyday and 94% of the cases are non-specific. Fortunately (or unfortunately for exercise haters) this form of pain can only be fixed long term with the right exercise program. Pain killers, massage, acupuncture, osteopaths, chiropractors and any other form of passive treatments may be able to provide a quick short term pain relief but they will not be able to solve the problem long term like exercise will. Strong core, gluts and back muscles is what is needed to maintain a healthy spine and this can only be achieved through exercise.
